Hello!

A couple of announcements on the writing front.

1) I recently finished my second novel, Muses' War: Fugue of Fire, and have submitted it to my publisher, with an anticipated release of May 2026.

The war between inspiration and corruption has never been quiet, but it is no longer distant.

In the wake of betrayal and spiritual fracture, the kingdom of Breheimen struggles to hold together what faith, art, and power once made whole. As a sacred sword is reforged, reformers challenge a Church built on silence, and old alliances strain under truths long buried, the cost of creation itself becomes impossible to ignore.

Fugue of Fire follows artists, clerics, and rulers caught between preservation and transformation, where every act of repair risks becoming an act of destruction, and even the most well-intended choices leave scars. As tensions between the Musae and the corrupting Tenebrae rise toward open conflict, the decisions made here will determine not only who governs Breheimen, but whether its people are prepared for the war to come.

Thoughtful, lyrical, and morally serious, Fugue of Fire is epic fantasy in the tradition of Ursula K. Le Guin, Guy Gavriel Kay, and Lois McMaster Bujold—written for readers who believe the most dangerous battles are fought over meaning.

Fugue of Fire is the sequel to my debut novel, Overture of Shadow. Speaking of my first book, that brings me to the second announcement.

2) Overture of Shadow is on sale for the next week; the Kindle edition is available for $0.99! This sale price in in conjunction with a periodic event called the Based Book Sale. where fellow travelers in the indy/small press space do community promotion for each other. I'd be grateful if you'd give the sale a perusal and see if anything strikes your fancy - it's geared toward science fiction and fantasy, and if that's your jam there's plenty of really good stuff there. The direct link for my book in the sale is here: Overture of Shadow.

If you do pick up my novel and enjoy it, I would truly appreciate your rating and review - that's one of the big things that keeps the listing visible and showing up in recommendation lists.

Great post Wally, I hope that your writing will form one pillar of a nascent TCC Media and Publishing Co, directed by the creatives within this community.

And very timely commentary on the light versus dark struggles we (humans, not TCC members) face currently.
